VCF to Excel & CSV

Drop a phone contact backup in and get a spreadsheet out — names, numbers and emails in columns you can actually read.

  • Reads .vcf backups
  • Excel or CSV out
  • Runs in your browser
VCF to ExcelPrivate

The file is read on your own machine. It is never uploaded, stored or logged.

How to convert a VCF file to Excel

  1. 1

Export your contacts as a .vcf file from your phone or Google Contacts.

  2. 2

Drop the file here - names, numbers, emails and companies are read in your browser.

  3. 3

Download the list as an Excel sheet (.xlsx) or a CSV.

Getting the .vcf off your phone

Android: Contacts → the three-dot menu or Settings → Import/Export → Export to .vcf. It saves one file holding every contact, usually in Downloads. iPhone: the phone itself has no export button, so the short way is icloud.com/contacts in a browser → select all → the gear icon at the bottom left → Export vCard.

Two things go wrong often enough to mention. Non-English names come out of older Android exports in a format called quoted-printable — long strings of =E0=AA — and most converters hand that straight through as gibberish; this one decodes it. And a contact with three numbers is three columns, not three contacts, unless you ask for one row per number.

Before you use the sheet for anything: clean it. Duplicates, old landlines, and numbers that were never on WhatsApp are all still in there. A list that bounces is not just wasted spend — on WhatsApp a run of failed sends is a quality signal against your number.

Questions people ask

Where do I get a .vcf file from my phone?

Android: Contacts app → Settings or the three-dot menu → Import/Export → Export to .vcf. iPhone: easiest through icloud.com/contacts → select all → the gear icon → Export vCard. Both produce one .vcf holding every contact.

Will it handle Hindi, Gujarati or Tamil names?

Yes. Older Android exports encode non-English names in a format called quoted-printable, which is why they often arrive as gibberish in other converters. This one decodes it, so the names come out as they were saved.

What about contacts with two or three numbers?

Each number gets its own column - Phone 1, Phone 2 and so on. If you would rather have one line per number, switch to the one-row-per-number option, which is the shape most upload tools want.

Can it convert numbers to international format?

Yes, with the toggle. It drops the leading zero and puts your country code in front, so 098765 43210 becomes 919876543210 - the form WhatsApp needs. Numbers that already carry a country code are left as they are.

Is my phone book uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is read in your browser and never sent. Nothing is stored or logged by us, which matters more here than on most tools - a phone book is about as personal as a file gets.

Excel or CSV?

Excel (.xlsx) keeps long numbers intact and opens cleanly. CSV is better if you are feeding another system, though some spreadsheet apps strip a leading zero or plus from a CSV number - the Excel file does not have that problem.

Beyond the free tool

A spreadsheet of numbers is not yet a list you can message.

Importing contacts, keeping consent and opt-outs straight, and sending an approved template to the people who said yes — that is the part that needs a WhatsApp Business number, and the part AiOneChat handles.
